ANYONE who missed the Wales Theatre Company's production of Under Milk Wood when it began its run in Hereford last Autumn will be pleased to see it coming to Malvern Theatres next week.
Staged to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Thomas' death, Under Milk Wood offers a voyeuristic slice of life in a typical Welsh seaside town.
Often referred to as the poet's greatest work, the play recounts dreams, gossip and waking hours of the sleepy seaside town of Llareggub over a Spring day. In turn funny, touching and delightful, the writer draws on the places he knew and grew up in - Laugharne, New Quay and Swansea.
Unforgettable characters such as Captain Cat, Myffanwy Price, The Reverend Ely, Polly Garter and Dai Bread populate this odd place and their affectionate charm and humour live on.
Under Milk Wood plays at Malvern Theatres from June 1-5. To book contact 01684 892277.
