TWO Herefordshire cyclists completed their trip from John O'Groats to Land's End with a day to spare - despite the odd bump and bruise.
James Harrison and 'Jimbob' Ball arrived at their Cornish destination last Friday - 24 hours ahead of schedule - to raise over £2,000 for St Michael's Hospice.
A thoroughly exhausted James, of Peterchurch, said: "We both fell off larking around on a hill and I fell into a canal at Tiverton when I ran into the back of Jimbob, who was reading a map.
"But despite all that we managed to arrive in sunny Cornwall a day early."
Although the pair of 31-year-olds covered around 70 miles a day on their two-week trip, James says he has actually put on weight over the last fortnight.
"We had a cooked breakfast everyday, so I don't think either of us are looking any slimmer," he joked.
"We received a lot of support from all the hostels, and we would also like to thank all the sponsors and Master Craft bicycles in Bridge Street for the equipment."
