GARDENING CLUB - A good turn out of over 50 members was seen at Bromsberrow Gardening and
Social Club's Christmas Party which was held on Thursday, December 16,
at Bromesberrow Village Hall. The evening started off with a Christmas message by Andrew Perry who is a
member of the club and also a local lay pastor. After focussing on the true
meaning of Christmas, members enjoyed a wonderful Christmas meal. Special
thanks go to Elizabeth Lothian and Liz Simnett for their wonderful
organisation and cooking skills. Following the meal, Geoff Sherwood
entertained members with his challenging and festive Christmas quiz. The
evening was rounded off with a session of carol singing with member Dr Richard Long playing the piano for all to enjoy seasonal song. The next meeting will be held on Thursday, February 10, at 7.30pm and will include a presentation from Keith Prowse from Rentokill on Pests in your garden. Members will also receive information at this meeting on the first trip of the year which will be on Saturday, February 19, and is a
visit to the Painswick Rococo Gardens.
Chairman Sara-Jane Watkins said that now was a great time to join the
Bromsberrow Gardening and Social Club. There were now over 70 active members and it was the largest and newest gardening clubs in the area. Now in its third year, all members have found that the club has been
an excellent way of meeting like-minded people from the locality. New members from Bromsberrow and surrounding villages were welcome to come along and transport can be arranged if needed.
