FILM SHOW - The next film to be shown in Skenfrith Parish Hall will be Shark Tale. This comes to Skenfrith, courtesy of Monmouthshire Mobile Movies on Saturday starting at 7pm. Tickets as usual will be available at the door, adults £3, children £2. The hall committee has purchased several more comfortable chairs, which should improve the seating for the film shows. Also permission has been given for some of the older narrower Aikido mats to be used so that small children can sit on the floor at the front during the film shows. For further details contact Hywel Jones 01600 750682.

SUPPER CLUB - The next supper club meeting is on Saturday, January 29, in Skenfrith Parish Hall at 7.30pm. The caterer for this meal will be Jane White. Book places in good time and payment in advance is requested. This makes it very much easier for the organisers. It is planned to use a variety of caterers during the coming year, by request. Contact for the supper club is Alan Jones on 01600 750698.

CHURCH BELLS - At the recent meeting of the Skenfrith Hall Committee, treasurer Alan Jones said that the special account opened by the hall for the church bells now stood at over £2,800. This is quite separate from monies previously raised for the bells and handed to church treasurer Delia Nash for the church bells account. It was therefore disappointing when the Rector Ambrose Mason was unable to tell the committee of any progress towards making a start on the renovation of the bells. At the moment, the Diocesan bells adviser is still deliberating on which estimate to go for and faculties are not being issued at this time.
