WALFORD HALL - Lots of activities and events are happening at the hall in Walford in 2005. When it was decided to renovate the hall and villagers started applying for funding, they were told they had to actively fundraise as well and this they are doing. The work on the hall should start soon as it takes time to process any plans, with all the different people involved, but things will start to take shape in the near future. Barbara Claxton from the Bristol and Avon Family History Society is coming to the hall to host an evening entitled Family History from the Beginning on Wednesday, February 23, at 7.30pm and will cost £1 with light refreshments. There is a follow up evening in assocciation with Hereford Record Office on Wednesday, March 23, at 7.30pm entitled Where do you think you live and will also cost £1. A luncheon is planned for Tuesday, February 15, at 12noon for 12.30pm. The cost is £4.50 per person. Anyone who has been before will know Call 563226 to book a table. There is a car boot sale on Sunday, March 20, from 10am to 2pm at a cost of £4 if booked in advance and £5 on the day. Spaces are going fast so call 769532 to book a space. A great opportunity to have a spring clean and clear out. The RNLI are having a fish and chip supper in aid of funds for their voluntary life-saving service.
