Leominster Town extended their lead at the top of the Hereford Times Herefordshire League Premier Division after their best display of the season brought an 8-0 home success against Hinton.

Leominster took the lead with their first attack of the game when, following a corner, Daniel Rocke's attempted shot was slotted home by Daniel Stack.

Hinton went in search of an equaliser and forced a couple of good saves from goallkeeper Kevin McCall before Leominster extended their lead when Dan Plowman's pass set Rocke clear to round Kyle Waring in the Hinton goal.

Rocke netted a third from Stack's low cross on the half-hour and completed his treble from a similar move just before the break.

Leominster further extended their lead at the start of the second period when Rocke intercepted a back-pass to score and the home striker notched his fifth shortly afterwards from the penalty spot.

Stack netted his second when Waring was only able to push out a Neil Bennett shot and Rocke rounded off a memorable afternoon when he fired in his sixth goal of the game after a one-two with Matt Smith.

Westfields are now Leominster's leading challengers after a comfortable 3-0 local-derby win over Pegasus at allpay.park.

Wes Owen scored twice for Westfields with skipper Matt Phillips netting the third to earn the city side three important points.

Pegasus remain at the foot of the table, behind Weston on goal difference after the villagers went down 4-1 at Wellington Rangers.

Playing their first game for six weeks, Wellington wasted no time in getting into their stride with a goal in the first minute.

Tom Herbert's corner was flicked on by Mark Hole for Mike Cole to net at the far post.

Weston had a great chance to level midway through the half when Shane Bruton drove over from a Carl Roberts free-kick and the villagers were punished for the miss when Mark Cross' centre was headed down by Herbert for Lee Ferneyhough to extend the lead just before the interval.

The visitors made a good start to the second period and their efforts were rewarded when Andy Francis pulled a goal back from the penalty spot.

Wellington were spurred into action after conceding the goal, however, and restored their two-goal lead when an Andy Clarke shot was pushed out by the Weston goalkeeper for Herbert to tap in.

Shortly before the end, Ross McMillan played in Mark Sutton who completed the scoring with a fierce shot from 20 yards.

Lads Club and Fownhope fought out an entertaining 2-2 draw at Widemarsh Common to remain locked in mid-table.

The home side received the boost of a first-minute goal with Ric Real firing home after good work by Jason Fry.

But Fownhope went on to dominate the remainder of the half with Matt Goodall missing four good chances in quick succession to level the scores and some excellent goalkeeping by Darren Ball playing a big part in preserving the city side's lead.

Goodall finally equalised at the start of the second period but Lads Club hit back immediately to take the lead again when Fry fed John Buchanan who squared the ball for Kingsley Lawson to find the net.

Ten minutes from the end, however, a superb strike from Joe Taylor, who powered home a 30-yard drive, earned a point for the villagers.

Ledbury Town Reserves fought back from a 2-0 half-time deficit at Woofferton to earn a 2-2 draw, with James Dean's late effort sneaking just the wrong side of a post as they went in search of a win.

A defensive error allowed Woofferton to open the scoring in the early stages and a deflected goal put the North Herefordshire side firmly in command at the interval.

But Peter Brown's cross allowed Russell Godfrey to pull a goal back shortly after the break and Ledbury's pressure then paid off when Dan Herbert fired home from 10 yards to earn a point.
