Brierley and Hagley 2 Kington Town 2

KINGTON felt that they deserved more than a share of the points after their 10th draw in the West Midlands League Premier Division.

They dominated the opening quarter and nearly took the lead when a chip from Danny Hill was tipped on to the bar by the home goalkeeper.

Brierley took the lead with their first serious attack when a quick break and cross from the left saw Kington goalkeeper Simon Hamer parry a powerful header to a home striker who prodded home from close range.

Kington equalised when Hill showed neat control in the box but was clipped from behind as he prepared to shoot and Mark Davis converted the penalty.

The visitors continued to dominate play in the third quarter and took the lead when Alex Hunt collected a loose ball on the edge of the box to beat a couple of defenders and fire home.

Brierley responded swiftly when slack marking gave a striker a free header at the far post to equalise and, in spite of a lot of late pressure, Kington could not find the winner.
