Ledbury Town 2 Tividale 0

LEDBURY gave another good team performance to leapfrog their visitors into a challenging fourth place in the table after a competitive West Midlands League Premier Division clash.

After an evenly contested opening, Ledbury almost took the lead when Stuart Smith put Lee Hooper through but the striker was foiled by an excellent save from Craig Ludek.

Ledbury continued to press and eventually opened the scoring with a terrific volley from Smith who gave Ludek no chance when he met an Alex Volosonovs cross with a first-time shot.

Craig Humphries made a superb point-blank save to keep Ledbury ahead at the break.

Stuart Hall and Mark Brookes edged the midfield battle after the interval and their domination paid off with a second Ledbury goal midway through.

They found Robbie Colwell just inside the Tividale half and the prolific striker turned provider when he shimmied his way past three defenders before delivering an inch-perfect cross to Hall for the midfielder to rifle his shot past Ludek.

Tividale tried to get back into the game but a well-organised home defence kept them at bay to complete a well-deserved victory.
