Technical problems mean that Ledbury's CCTV cameras will not be linked to the central control room at Hereford until February.
The council's CCTV officer, Debbie Stringer, said the problem lay not at the Ledbury end, but with the link into Ledbury and work to rectify it was set to continue this week.
If all goes to plan, the connection will finally be made in the first week of February, almost two months behind the original schedule.
When the work is complete, it will mean that the cameras are monitored 24-hours a day and police can be alerted to respond to problems.
At the moment, the cameras simply record should evidence be required.
