Hereford United 5 Hinckley 1
HEREFORD registered their first win in the Premier Division of the Midland Floodlit Under-18 Youth League with an emphatic victory at Bridge Street SC.
United dominated the first half but led just 1-0 at the interval after Chris Mortlock's effort was parried and Andrew Williams followed up to score. Hereford doubled their advantage when a visiting player knocked in a Paul Collins free-kick, Dean Jordan added the third goal, leading-scorer Mortlock bagged the fourth and substitute Adam Kite fired in the fifth. Hinckley scored a late consolation.
Previously, United slipped to a 3-2 defeat against rivals Kidderminster Harriers in a hard-fought away league clash.
Hereford led 2-1 at the interval after goals from Adam Kite and Lewis Jones but Harriers equalised midway through the second half and hit the winner in the closing minutes.
Despite leading three times, United crashed to a 5-3 away defeat after extra-time against Bristol-based Bitton in the FA Youth Cup third qualifying round. United's goals came in the first half from Andrew Williams (2) and Paul Brown.
