Coalville 0 Westfields 2
WESTFIELDS produced an impressive team performance to complete a Midland Football Alliance league double over Coalville and dent their Leicestershire hosts' aspirations of a top-four finish.
Coalville opened at a cracking pace and visiting goalkeeper Mark Hopkins did well to force ace marksman Ashley Warner wide, his shot whistling past the upright.
Minutes later Warner created space for Danny Russell only for the twin striker to blaze over the bar with the goal at his mercy.
The visitors settled down and began to open up the home defence with some slick passing, eventually taking a 22nd- minute lead when Mark Hibbard converted a penalty after Paul Burton was brought down in the box.
Westfields increased their lead before the break when a superb move involving Nicky Welch, Hibbard and Matt Beale ended with Beale crossing into the home box for in-form striker Burton to hit the target with a crisp finish from 12 yards.
After the break Coalville lifted their game with Warner a constant threat. Anthony Rivett cleared a Warner shot off the line and the prolific striker was unlucky to see his powerful drive rebound off the upright.
Westfields regrouped and finished strongly to secure a well-deserved away victory.
