Hereford United's leading scorer Jamie Pitman is relishing Monday's trip to former club Woking for the Sky-televised Nationwide Conference clash at the Kingfield Stadium, writes Ian Morgan.

The midfielder has made a dream start to his second stint at Edgar Street, snapping up four goals in the opening five league matches.

The ambitious 26-year-old, released by the Cards in the summer, has already reached the quota of goals that United boss Graham Turner set him to score by Christmas.

"It could not have been a better start for me. Everyone enjoys scoring goals and the spirit at the club is brilliant, too," said Pitman, who made 21 Football League appearances for Hereford.

And, of Woking, he said: "They have got some good players, so we know that it will be a difficult match. But we played really well in our 3-0 win at Nuneaton."

Last season, United lost 1-0 at Woking and then drew 2-2 with the Surrey club at Edgar Street.

The match is being screened live on Sky Sports 1, kick-off 7.45pm.

l Actors from television soaps Coronation Street and Emmerdale will competing in a fund-raising match at Edgar Street on September 21, kick-off 2pm.
