A new internet and ice cream cafe is being opened in the Homend, Ledbury.

Mayor Jayne Roberts was performing the ceremony at Ice Bytes at 10am today (Friday), before sisters-in-law Leah and Shoko Eager serve their first customers.

The business is owned by brothers Martin and John Eager, who have put in five broadband terminals and printers, a fax machine and even facilities to print digital photographs.

Martin Eager said that with his wife Leah being Kenyan and with Shoko hailing from Japan, the cafe would be a truly multi-cultural enterprise.

However, the ice cream will be local, sourced from Beacon Hill at Bosbury.

The Eager brothers have taken on the cafe from Beacon Hill. They hope an internet cafe will prove popular with local people, as well as foreign students and tourists wishing to contact home.
