Hereford County Netball Association will be hosting three netball play-days for interested players from school years 6 through to 11 at Hereford Sixth Form College outside courts, before the start of the Little Leagues in May.
The play-day for the year 6/7 league, which operates on Sunday mornings, will take place on Sunday, May 1 from 9.30am-12.15pm. This will be followed at 1.30-3.30 pm. for those in years 8 and 9, whose league runs on Sunday afternoons.
The skills evening for players in year 10 and 11 takes place on Wednes-day, April 27 from 6.30-8.30pm.
All kit and umpires are provided, and last year over 150 girls from across the county participated.
The leagues have proved a huge success since they began in 1999 and the current U18 and U16s County squads field a large number of players who started in the junior leagues.
All primary and secondary schools in the county have been circulated and application forms should be available from the teacher in charge of netball, but anyone experiencing difficulty should write a covering letter and send a cheque for £15 made payable to HCNA with SAE to Mrs T Douthwaite, 6 Eltons Marsh, Canon Pyon Road, Hereford HR4 7SJ. Closing date for applications is April 15.
