Bromyard Town 7 Ettingshall 1

AFTER a very scrappy first period, Bromyard found their form with a blistering second-half display that yielded six goals to trounce West Midlands League Premier Division strugglers Ettingshall, with Carl Fairhurst and Andy Crowther both bagging hat-tricks.

Both teams failed to impress in a first-half riddled with mistakes and lacking any co-ordination. Neither side was able to string passes together and frequently lost possession. The only goal came in the 20th minute when Fairhurst collected the ball and hit the target with an opportunist strike after the weakened visitors lost possession on the edge of the box.

It was a totally different story after the interval with Crowther grabbing two goals in as many minutes as Bromyard took control. They kept up the pressure and Fairhurst added two more in the next 10 minutes to complete his hat-trick, with Crowther, not to be outdone, registering his hat-trick goal in the 75th minute when he completed a fine, flowing move.

Tony McLean rubbed it in when he broke through to claim goal number seven, and although Ettingshall claimed a late consolation goal, Bromyard's superb second-half performance earned them their biggest win of the current campaign.
