LEDBURY'S Sasha Peake entered Cape Town harbour yesterday (Thursday) morning after completing the fourth leg of the Global Challenge yacht race.
Sasha is part of the crew of Me to You, which finished the 6,200 mile journey from Sydney in eighth place.
Frustrating light winds and early fog in Cape Town set the seal on a tough journey for all the yachts.
Crews will remain in Cape Town until May 1, when they start the longest leg of the race, the 6,775 mile journey to Boston, USA.
The voyage, due to take up to 38 days, will take Sasha across the Equator, through the Doldrums and then up the eastern coast of America on the Gulf Stream.
Racers are expected back in Portsmouth on July 16/17.
