DUE to illness Ledbury Town Reserves travelled to Fownhope with the bare 11 players and their coach and manager as substitutes.
FOWNHOPE 1, LEDBURY TOWN RESERVES 2
There was no score in a mediocre first half with both teams cancelling each other.
Ledbury made a strong start to the second half and were the more enterprising team.
With 15 minutes left coach Mark Herbert came on for Chris Grubb and with his first touch laid a superb cross to skipper Ashley Jones who, with a towering header, put Ledbury ahead.
Five minutes later Fownhope equalised after a mix up by Ledbury's defence.
With only minutes left to play, Mark Herbert put a low pass in to his son Dan, who beat two Fownhope defenders and volleyed home a powerful left-foot shot from 18 yards for the winner.
Tomorrow (Saturday), Ledbury Reserves are at home to Sutton, kick-off 2.30pm. Support for this young team welcome.
