Hereford Whitecross Club's squash club are through to the last four in the National Club Cup after a comprehensive quarter-final win over Draycotts of Staffordshire.

More than 100 members watched as the Whitecross team of skipper Andrew Watts, professional Sam Miller, Lewys Hurst, Mathew Crowley and Jethro Binns romped home 4-1 to earn a semi-final place against either Pontefract or Queens London at the finals weekend at the Nottingham Squash Rackets Club on May 6-7.

Miller, who jetted out to Dublin to take part in the Irish Open immediately after the match, is world ranked 84 while Hurst is Welsh Junior No 1 and Binns holds top rating at Loughborough University.

Watts, the only Whitecross player to lose his match, said: "I'm absolutely chuffed to bits by the victory. We are delighted to be flying the flag for Herefordshire in the top four of all English clubs."
