HEREFORD RAIL MALE VOICE CHOIR - Entertained the audience well on Saturday evening in Skenfrith Parish Hall. Desmond Pugh was the MC for the evening and introduced the choir on their second visit to Skenfrith. They gave a varied programme of well-loved songs, which included the spiritual One Day at a time Sweet Jesus, part of Schubert's Sanctus, Jacob's Ladder and the Bold Gendarmes. The audience joined in the chorus of the Hippopotamus song mud, mud, glorious mud - and again in a song from Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dream Coat. During the first half Ray Boddington gave two of Stanley Holloway's recitations in Lancashire Dialect - the first was about the Wigan Whippets and the 'own goal' scored in the fog. The second was Albert and the Lion. During the second half there were notices from a church notice board which gave the audience a laugh. The choir ended their performance with Myfanwy followed by Love Divine. It was an excellent programme. Bill Price thanked the choir very much
