Tividale 2 Kington Town 4
KINGTON made a blistering start with some of their best football of the current campaign to bag three goals in the opening 20 minutes before completing a fine victory over their higher-placed West Midland League Premier Division hosts.
Usually slow starters, Kington immediately put Tividale under pressure with a series of crisp passing movements. This enterprise was rewarded in the eighth minute when Kevin Gwilliam split the home defence for Mark Davis to collect and hit a low drive past the advancing goalkeeper.
Sustained pressure soon produced another goal, 16-year-old wing-back Liam Jones breaking down the right and cutting in to slip a beautifully weighted pass for Davis to bag his second. The youngster then produced an inch-perfect right-wing cross to the far post for Alex Hunt to net with a looping header.
Tividale pulled a goal back before the break when Kington failed to clear a corner and although the visitors dominated the second half an interesting finish was created when the home team broke quickly to reduce the deficit to a single goal.
However, Gwilliam made a fine run to beat two defenders and clinch a deserved victory with a crisp finish.
