The television relaunch of Dr Who has thrilled the owner of Bromyard's Teddy Bear and Toy Museum.

Ted Glazzard is also the proud owner of a life-size dalek - the doctor's most famous adversary - which will get pride of place during the spring season at the museum.

"We always get aficionados of this type of material coming in but we hope the new television series will bring in even more people," he said.

Mr Glazzard said the dalek, bought seven years ago from the USA, made very realistic sound effects.

"It tells people it wants to exterminate them quite often," he said.

The museum also boasts a range of Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet puppets, antique teddy bears collected over 40 years and a 5ft model of a U-boat.

"The Thunderbirds have done us proud, lots of people came in to see them," said Mr Glazzard. "The U-boat is quite amazing too. It was made for a film and has all the small details, even people standing on deck."

The musuem is open every day except Sunday and Monday, 10.30am to 4.30pm.
