TWO disabled people from Hereford had the time of their lives when they competed in their own mini Olympics.
Sue Huff and Roy Jackson took part in bowls, shot putt and wellie wanging at the Bob Cook Memorial Games in Swindon and went home with medals.
Sue won gold in bowls and shot putt and silver in wellie wanging, while Roy got a gold and a bronze in shot put and bowls respectively.
They were taken there by Ross-on-Wye Lions Club members Mel Middlecote, Martin King and Bernard Fowkes.
“This was my first visit to the games and will be a day that I will remember for the rest of my life,”
said Mr Fowkes.
“This is what the Lions is all about and it gives us all so much satisfaction and delight when we succeed in whatever we do.”
