FILM - The Lion Ballroom welcomes you to another large-screen film on September 2. Knowing (15) is a thriller from director Alex Proyas (whose credits include Dark City and I Robot). A cryptic number sequence is found in an unearthed time capsule, buried 50 years previously. Predicting all the world’s major disasters since its burial, it is discovered by the son of an astrophysicist, played by Nicholas Cage. It is up to the scientist to examine the numbers and figure out their significance before the final date in the sequence arrives. SUNFLOWER - TALL STORY - Jack Hughes, who is five years old, is pictured here with the sunflower he has grown with his grandad, Tom Griffiths, in their garden in Leominster. They are both very proud of the sunflower which is more than 10 feet high. Jack calls his grandparents Nan and Grandad Garden as they are always in the garden and love encouraging all the grandchildren to take an active part.
