TWO county construction workers are making light work of a good deed this week after shedding weight for a charity parachute jump.

Lloyds Construction Ltd proprietor Andrew Lloyd, who alone has lost more than a stone, and labourer Kevin Prior, 28, are among 26 well-wishers who plan to go skydiving at Netheravon Airfield in Wiltshire to raise money for St Michael’s Hospice.

Andrew’s wife Rachael, who helped her 37-year-old husband slim down and raise more than £900 for the cause in the process, said: “They are more used to jumping onto diggers than out of aeroplanes so this should be quite an experience for both of them.”

Rachael said the couple’s four children were all for their dad completing the daredevil stunt tomorrow (Friday) because the hospice was a great cause that the Lyonshall family firm had always supported.

More than £13,000 is expected to be generated altogether by volunteers raising a minimum of £375 in order to take part.
