BROMYARD residents and dignitaries tried out a range of alternative games last week as part of countrywide preparations for the Olympics.
Children and adults alike put their skills to the test with classics including green bowls and welly wanging, alongside more wacky activities like blindfolded wheelbarrow racing and parsnip skittles last Friday.
The fun scheme at Bromyard’s Queen Elizabeth Humanities College also saw displays from local groups including 2Faced Dance during the event, organised to pilot a community games project that will now roll out to other towns ahead of the games in 2012.
