FIREFIGHTERS spent 15 hours battling a barn fire in the Golden Valley yesterday.
Crews from Ewyas Harold, Peterchurch, Eardisley and Hereford were called to Pontys Mill barn at Sunnybank, Longtown at 3.30am.
Alec Mackie, fire press officer, said the barn contained around 2,000 bales of hay and straw and the roof collapsed.
No one was in the building at the time. It is not known what caused the fire.
