TWO county construction workers made light work of a good deed last week after shedding weight for a county parachute jump.
Lloyds Construction Ltd proprietor Andrew Lloyd, who alone lost more than a stone, and labourer Kevin Prior, 28, were among 26 well-wishers who planned to go skydiving at Netheravon Airfield in Wiltshire to raise money for St Michael’s Hospice last Friday.
Andrew’s wife Rachael, who helped her 37-year-old husband slim down and raise more than £900 for the cause in the process, said: “They are more used to jumping on to diggers than out of aeroplanes so this should be an experience for both of them.”
Rachael said the hospice was a great cause that the Lyonshall family firm had always supported.
More than £13,000 was expected to be generated altogether through volunteers raising a minimum of £375 in order to take part.
