CEDAR CLUB- There can be no better representative for tea drinking than past County Chairman of the WI, Mrs Eileen Dilley. As guest speaker at The Cedar Club last week, Mrs Dilley gave a fascinating talk on ‘The Social History of Afternoon Tea’, the most popular drink consumed in Britain today. Mrs Dilley is also an ambassador for the UK Tea Council, an independent non-profit making body dedicated to promoting tea and its unique story. Members and guests eagerly sampled her home made cakes following tea and sandwiches. The Club’s next meeting on May 21st will be a trip to Birmingham’s Botanical Gardens.
