DETECTIVES in Hereford are investigating a suspicious fire at the Newlands flats complex in Old School Lane.
Shortly after midnight police became aware that the fire service were attending a fire under a stairwell leading to the first floor of the flats.
This was quickly extinguished and a forensic examination by police and fire specialists was carried out.
Police have confirmed that a 23-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the incident. She remains in custody and will be interviewed by detectives later today.
