A HEREFORDSHIRE volunteer group was disappointed to hear about the closure of the Left Bank as it was to be the venue for their latest get together.

But members of the Voluntary Sector Assembly (VSA) were delighted when the Kindle Centre stepped in and it will be held next Wednesday (January 28).

“I was dismayed when I heard that the Left Bank had closed and was relieved that the Kindle Centre was able to accommodate the event at such short notice,” said Sue Black, VSA co-ordinator.

“It is great when local organisations can help each other in times of trouble.”

The assembly acts as a voice of the voluntary sector in Herefordshire and is a forum for community groups to comment on the challenges that face them in the current economic climate.

Chris Bull, chief executive of Herefordshire Council and Herefordshire Primary Care Trust (PCT) will be talking about the development of the VSA and councillor Roger Phillips will be making a presentation to thank young photographers from the V project who donated their photographs on the new VSA website.
