A HEREFORD supermarket had to temporaily shut when large parts of the city lost power this afternoon.
Sainsbury’s went without power for about 20 minutes on two occasions at around 12.15pm and 12.50pm, resulting in the checkouts shutting down.
“We did have to temporarily close due to a power cut, but the customers understood what was going, said deputy manager Neil Ferman.
“My colleagues were brilliant in dealing with the situation.”
Jonathan Smith, central networks press officer, said that around 600 properties were affected in the city centre until about 1.20pm, but there was no known fault.
