Two people arrested in connection with the murder of a 41-year-old Shropshire man were due to appear in court today.

The man and a woman, both in their forties and from the Leominster area, were appearing before Shrewsbury magistrates this morning charged with perverting the course of justice.

They have been held in custody at Leominster police station since their arrest on Wednesday and were charged last night.

A second woman, also arrested on Wednesday, continues to be questioned at Telford police station after Telford magistrates last night granted police a further detention period.

The three arrests were made by officers investigating the death of George Black of The Square, Bucknell, South Shropshire. He died in Whiston Hospital, Liverpool on December 10, two days after an incident at his home in which he suffered severe burns.
