A BONFIRE party is to be held in Hereford to promote the public use of Aylestone Park.
The party will take place at the park tomorrow (Saturday) from 5pm until 10pm and will feature live entertainment from local band Brandon Steep, fire jugglers, a puppet show and dance performances by county schools.
The evening coincides with the 25th anniversary of the Herefordshire and Gloucestershire Canal Trust.
It is planned that the park will be included in the first length of the restored canal.
Organiser Martin Danks said: “There has been a large pile of logs waiting for a bonfire for over two years.
"It just seemed right to celebrate the completion of the current works and publicise the park with a bonfire party.”
The park can be accessed on foot from College Road via the canal-side footpath, Victoria Park, Lugg View Close and two entrances off Aylestone Hill.
Parking is limited.
