THREE cars travelling north of a fatal three-way crash on the A49 were also involved in a collision on the road over the weekend.

Police had already closed a section of the road near Peterstow because of the first accident when a silver Renault Taxi, an orange Suzuki Vitara and an unkown red car also collided near Much Birch, outside Ross-on-Wye, at 4.05pm on Saturday.

The Renault driver escaped with whiplash injuries but fortunately no-one else was hurt.

Police would like to trace the red car, which was travelling south and failed to stop, and are appealing for information regarding its driver or to anyone who may have seen such a vehicle with front end damage to call police.
