A MAN who died following an accident on a Herefordshire road has been named.

William Edward Lewis, 67, from Coleford, Gloucestershire, died following a road traffic collision on the A49 at Peterstow on Saturday.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident which occurred at the bus stop opposite the Red Lion Public House in the village at 10.50am.

Three vehicles were involved - a double-decker bus, a JCB tractor and a VW Golf car.

The bus and tractor were heading north on the A49 when the tractor was in collision with the bus and then the VW Golf.

The driver of the VW Golf received fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

One of the other drivers was arrested by police on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He was bailed by police while further enquiries are completed.

The coroner has been informed and an inquest is expected to be opened and adjourned tomorrow.
