FIVE Herefordshire men are using pedal power to raise money for two county charities.
Phil Prothero, Howard Robinson, Andy Leeburn, Mark Dykes and Chris Holmes are taking on the Welsh Coast Challenge – a 560-mile extreme bike ride which they are hoping to complete in under 60 hours.
The group is hoping to raise funds for the Charles Renton Cancer Unit in Hereford and Spinal Research West Midlands branch.
The men have all taken part in fundraising bike rides in the past including the Three Peaks Challenge and decided to support a cancer charity this year because Chris’s wife Anne successfully overcame cancer.
They are also supporting the Herefordshire branch of Spinal Research which was set up by Colin Javens, who broke his neck seven years ago. To make a donation go to j u s t g i v i n g . c o m / w e l s h c o a s t challenge08.
