Overnight roadworks are under way in Hereford as part of a scheme to improve a busy city junction.

The works are taking place on Commercial Road and Bath Street from 7pm until 7am this evening.

A spokesman for Herefordshire Council said: "We know the improvement works have affected journeys around the Commercial Road and Blueschool Street junction.

"To help minimise disruption, we will also be carrying out some of the essential crossing works on Commercial Road and Bath Street overnight to help avoid some of the daytime delays on this busy junction."

The work will deliver new traffic lights and improved pedestrian crossings, helping to make this busy junction safer, more efficient and easier for everyone to use.

Temporary lane closures and traffic management will be in place during these works.

A spokesman for Herefordshire Council said: "We appreciate that the roadworks can be frustrating, and we'd like to thank everyone for their patience."
