A mum and her three children have been left with "absolutely nothing" after a devastating house fire in Hereford, according to a fundraiser set up to help the family.

Four fire crews were called to the blaze in the Newton Farm area on Wednesday evening (November 4), with firefighters using breathing apparatus and hose reels to tackle the flames.

A fundraising appeal has now been launched by Sandra Mikolajczak, who says her sister and three children lost everything they owned in the fire and face the task of rebuilding their lives from scratch.

Ms Mikolajczak said the family now needs to replace everything from clothes and shoes to everyday essentials and find somewhere to call home.

She said: “My sister and her three children have been left with absolutely nothing after a devastating house fire.

“Their home went up in flames, and they have lost everything they own.

“They are now faced with the heartbreaking task of starting completely from scratch and rebuilding their lives.”

Ms Mikolajczak said the fundraiser had been created to “take some of the pressure off them” and that any donations would go towards helping the family get back on their feet.

Two fire crews from Hereford, one from Ewyas Harold and another from Fownhope attended the fire in Newton Farm on Wednesday evening.

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said breathing apparatus and hose reels were used to tackle the blaze.

The fire was extinguished, with crews remaining at the scene afterwards to damp down and check for any spread of fire.
