HORROR-FORD will mark its fifth anniversary with a month-long celebration of horror films at The Courtyard.
The event began in 2022 as a double-bill screening and has since expanded to include new and classic films.
This year’s programme includes new releases Backrooms, Obsession, Colony and Other Mommy. Carrie will return to the big screen for its 50th anniversary.
Horror fans will also have the chance to see No Such Thing as a Vampire, a lost episode of the BBC’s 1968 Late Night Horror series. The episode was recovered earlier this year from a cinema in Dorset and revived by Film is Fabulous.
It will be followed by a screening of the 1958 film Dracula, featuring long-lost footage.
Cinema Programming and Development Officer Ethan Hargreaves said: “When it gets to October there's nothing better than watching a scary movie with a room full of people, and we've put together a line-up built to bring out the jumps, yelps and have people hiding behind their hands.
“We've got a mix of 2026 hits and classics so there should be something for every horror fan.”
The Courtyard’s resident film club RADIX will screen Teenage Sex & Death at Camp Miasma on October 19 at 6.30pm. The film is Jane Schoenbrun’s latest exploration of horror and fixation with media. People attending can receive a 10 per cent discount at the bar after the screening.
HORROR-FORD’s first horror film quiz will be held at The Jam Factory on October 7 at 8pm. Fancy dress is encouraged, with a special prize for the most terrifying team.
The Jam Factory will also host a free 30th anniversary screening of From Dusk till Dawn. The event will include bespoke cocktails, music from the film and a burlesque introduction.
