Thunderstorms are likely to hit Herefordshire this afternoon and this evening.
Herefordshire is expected to see heavy, thundery showers this afternoon and evening, with the risk of torrential downpours, lightning, and hail.
A weather warning has been issued by the Met Office, advising the public to prepare for potential disruption.
A spokesman for the Met Office said: "While most places will miss the worst, heavy thundery showers may bring some impacts this afternoon and evening."
Motorists are being warned of hazardous driving conditions due to spray, standing water, and hail, which could lead to longer journey times by car and bus.
There is also a risk of flooding to some homes and businesses, as well as possible damage to buildings from lightning strikes.
Train services could face delays, and there may be short-term power cuts and disruptions to other services.
Residents are being urged to check if their location is at risk of flash flooding and to prepare accordingly.
The Met Office said: "Consider preparing a flood plan and an emergency flood kit.
"Give yourself the best chance of avoiding delays by checking road conditions if driving, or bus and train timetables, amending your travel plans if necessary."
The public is also advised to prepare for power cuts by gathering torches, batteries, and mobile phone power packs.
Those caught outside during a thunderstorm should seek shelter in a safe, enclosed space such as a car.
People are advised not to shelter under trees or structures that could be struck by lightning.
Thunderstorms can occur year-round but are most likely to produce large hail, gusty winds and torrential downpours during the summer months.
Impacts are often highly localised, with rainfall and hazards varying widely over short distances.
Before a storm, residents should unplug non-essential appliances to avoid power surges.
During a thunderstorm, people should avoid using landlines and stay away from water and metal objects.
If driving during a storm, it is safest to remain inside the vehicle with windows closed.
