Hereford, Ledbury, and Great Malvern bus changes

Herefordshire Council has announced a series of changes to supported bus services, including extra morning and evening journeys, retimed stops, and new operators.

These changes will come into effect from August 30.

The updated timetables will introduce additional evening journeys and enhanced Sunday services on route 23 between Newport and Hereford, as well as additional Saturday morning journeys on the 417 between Worcester and Ledbury.

Other routes will see minor timetable adjustments to improve reliability and punctuality.

More journeys will now serve Hereford Railway Station on the 66 service between Monmouth and Hereford, while the 675 between Ledbury and Great Malvern will gain new early morning and evening journeys.

Councillor Philip Price, cabinet member for transport and infrastructure, said: "Bus services are vital to communities across Herefordshire, providing people with access to work, education, healthcare, shops and other essential services.

"Herefordshire welcomes these additional journeys on services that the Council financially supports, which are targeted at getting people to work in the early morning and in the evening."

Some routes remain unchanged but will be operated by different companies.

Newport Transport will take over the 413/812 between Broad Oak and Hereford, the 436 between Swainshill and Hereford, and the 448 between Madley and Hereford.

D Belfitt Commercials will operate services including the 31, 54, 436 (Breinton), 456/457, 459, 478, and 479 across south and east Herefordshire.

Mr Price said: "The Council will continue to work with operators to improve the reliability of bus services and welcome their new timetables, particularly at the beginning of the academic year as we welcome many new young people onto the bus network."
