A uninsured driver has been given a suspended prison sentence for getting behind the wheel while disqualified on a main road into Hereford.
Adam King, of South Bank in Whitestone, near Hereford, appeared at Hereford Magistrates Court on August 20
King, 24, admitted driving a Ford Fiesta on the A465 Bromyard to Hereford Road near Cross Keys, on July 4, when he had no valid insurance and was disqualified from driving.
The court heard King was already subject to a community order and had been disqualified shortly before the offence.
Magistrates imposed an eight-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, because of a realistic prospect of rehabilitation and King’s mental health condition.
He was also disqualified from driving for 18 months and ordered to complete up to 15 days of rehabilitation activity.
King, represented by Matthew Lewis, was told to pay £85 in costs. His guilty pleas were taken into account.
