A PERSON has been taken to hospital after being rescued from the River Wye in Hereford.
The Longtown Mountain Rescue Team were called to the River Wye in Hereford at 5.23pm today (August 13) after receiving a report from the fire service of a person in distress.
A water rescue team, along with vehicles and specialist rescue equipment, were immediately deployed, with a spokesperson for the organisation adding that team members arrived at the scene within minutes of the initial call.
The person was located and rescued from the water by firefighters from Hereford Fire Station, and once they were safely out of water, they were assessed by medics from the mountain rescue team.
The person was taken to hospital for further assessment and treatment, a spokesperson for the group said.
