A MAN has been left with potentially serious injuries after a crash on the A49 yesterday evening.

The A49 was closed in both directions near Ashton in Leominster yesterday evening after a crash, with paramedics and firefighters called to the scene.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service has confirmed that they sent an ambulance, a Community First Responder and the Midlands Air Ambulance to the scene at around 5.18pm.

On arrival, crews found a man who they treated for potentially serious injuries before he was conveyed by land ambulance, under emergency driving conditions, to Hereford County Hospital.

The major A-road between Leominster and Ludlow was closed between Tunnel Lane and School Lane yesterday evening, with slow-moving traffic in both directions around the closure.

We are seeking further information from West Mercia Police and Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service.
