A MUCH-missed pub is being fondly remembered by the community over a decade after it closed its doors.
The Cotterell Arms in Whitecross was run by Gill and Noel Kirby from 1988 until its closure in April 2014.
Mr Kirby died in 2014 at the age of 59, and Mrs Kirby remained at the pub for a few months before leaving on April 29.
Mrs Kirby said at the time: "It has not sunk in yet that I am leaving and it probably won’t until I walk out of the door for the last time.
"I have decided that I will be leaving at the end of April and the pub is now up for sale."
Commenting on a recently shared picture of the pub, she described the Cotterell Arms as a place of both "happy and sad memories," and praised the "great teams and customers" who made the pub special.
The closure marked the end of an era for many, with residents still sharing fond recollections over a decade on.
Roger Williams said: "I’ve had a few beers in there. Last time I went in there was Lino on the floor. I’d known it my entire life as from year zero I grew up in Clifford St round the corner."
Kevin Fosberry also recalled childhood memories of passing the pub on the way to school and being greeted by a parrot in the side window.
The building has since been converted into three terraced houses.
