A CITY centre pub is reopening today with a new name, new management and a fresh look.
The former Spread Eagle on King Street has been renamed The Spire & Vine and will open its doors at midday under the management of Adam Wilcox, who also runs The Swan at Aylestone Hill.
Mr Wilcox and his team have completed a substantial refurbishment on the historic pub, which will now be known as The Spire & Vine.
He previously said he took on the pub from owners Stonegate as he loved the location, and the team knew they could get a "great deal on it due to its recent struggles".
Mr Wilcox and his team have carried out a £45,000 refurbishment of the historic venue and also plan to offer accommodation, with hotel rooms to be added later this year.
The pub’s opening cask ales will include Otter Bitter, Wye Valley HPA and St Austell's Tribute.
It will also be showing the England vs Norway World Cup game this evening, with kick-off at 10pm.
