THE price of a prominent black and white village pub has been cut by £50,000.
The Axe and Cleaver in Much Birch, now on the market for £745,000, has been owned by the same proprietor for 20 years.
Having spent nearly a year on the market with agent Sidney Phillips, the price has been reduced.
The pub offers a lounge, bar, and restaurant area with seating for 48 diners, as well as a public bar for 30 guests.
It also includes a six-bedroom owners’ accommodation, extensive gardens, car parking, and an outbuilding suitable for conversion.
The site covers 2.2 acres, and includes a maintained paddock area, a large enclosed private garden, a car park for over 40 vehicles, and a barn which could be converted.

In addition, the land includes a large, uncultivated area of "semi-woodland and scrub", which the agents have suggested could be used as a campsite or holiday park, subject to receiving permission.
