A dedicated teacher is in the running for a prestigious honour.
Emma O'Monaigh of Riverside Primary School has been nominated for Teacher of the Year in the Hereford Times Community Awards 2026.
Chloe Holder, who nominated her, said Miss O'Monaigh is the school special educational needs coordinator, and is also lead for looked after children.
"She goes above and beyond to make sure every child feels included and supported in school," Ms Holder said.
"She works collaboratively with parents and children ensuring each child's needs are met regardless if they have the funding to do so."
She added: "She deserves some recognition in what must be a very hard job at times but she ensures the school is diverse and all children are included and disability is celebrated not sympathised."
There are 13 award categories, with Teacher of the Year sponsored by John Finch Computers Group.
A ceremony honouring the finalists will take place at Hereford Cathedral on Wednesday, October 7.
