THE landlord currently at the helm of a character landmark pub is to step away, with the search for new leaseholders now on.
The Trumpet Inn on the junction of the A438 and the A417 near Ledbury has been advertised by agents, Sidney Phillips, with the leasehold priced at £10,000.
Landlord Alan Davies said he has made the decision to leave the pub due to personal reasons, but he will continue to trade at his other pub, The Moon Inn at Mordiford, and the leasehold to The Trumpet Inn will be sold as a going concern.
The 17th-century Grade-II listed building includes three character trading areas, gardens and parking, and a three-bedroom owner's accommodation area.
The pub also comprises a "comprehensively equipped" catering kitchen, and ancillary areas such as a cold room, a washing-up area, and a laundry room.
The owner's accommodation includes a galley-style kitchen, a large lounge, a family shower room, and three double bedrooms.
According to the Herefordshire branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) the building dates back to around 1456, but has been extensively refurbished to include a single bar, two lounges, and a restaurant and conservatory.
"The wholesome menu uses fresh vegetables throughout - some from the pub's own garden," they added.

Offering the six-year-long lease, a spokesperson for Sidney Phillips said that as their client acquired the property in December 2023, and it has been operated since by independent tenants, they have no access to trading figures.
Perspective purchasers will need to reach their own conclusions as to the potential trade and profitability which can "be enjoyed at this outlet".
