A MAN who caused actual bodily harm and thousands of pounds worth of damage has been sentenced by magistrates.

Lewis Catlin appeared before magistrates for sentencing in June after entering guilty pleas to one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, one of causing criminal damage and one of causing a nuisance or disturbance on NHS premises at an earlier hearing.

The court heard Catlin had assaulted a person, causing them actual bodily harm in an incident in Hereford on August 22, 2024.

The 24-year-old had also caused damage worth between £5,000 and £10,000 to a glass door pane, a wooden door frame and furniture and caused a nuisance or disturbance to NHS staff, also refusing to leave the premises when asked to do so at Alton Street Surgery in Ross-on-Wye on October 31.

Catlin, who gave the court a 'care of' address in Ross-on-Wye, was handed a two-year community order and must pay compensation of £500 to Alton Street Surgery and £500 to the assault victim.

He was also fined £50 and ordered to pay prosecution costs of £200 and a £114 victim surcharge.
